like the DHS report identifying abortion opponents as potential "right wing extremists" not to create a sense of paranoia but rather to help people be wise about the times. God is still God, our Faith will endure, and ten thousand years after the United States, or any other country for that matter, is a curiousity of ancient history the Church will remain.
But there is another truth in play. Truly the Church has been sleeping and events like this should, as one poster to this blog has said, "Wake us up..." to see that we have to be alive, vital, willing to reach beyond ourselves, and willing to come to terms with and act on the idea that Christianity is powerful and subversive to the dominant paradigm. The time for discussion is over, it is time to do and be.
I don't know, does that mean I'm a potential "right wing extremist" too?

Nothing new, father. The DOJ took their lead from the Southern Poverty Law Center when Clinton was in the White House, classifying any group with "patriot" or "patriotic" in their name as a right-wing extremist group. It certainly has nothing to do with Dubya.
Well, yeah. If history is any indication, their will be a lot of intentional disinformation out there (even more, and more blatant than now). The way we can counter that is by being the church and by being Christians. As we live our lives seeking our salvation, then we will have an effect locally on individuals and that's all that matters.
I was almost arrested for talking to a couple before they entered an abortion clinic when I was working in the medical complex. I touched the woman and the doctor wanted me charged with assault. The clients didn't press charges. If we are Christian, we're by default subversives of the culture we live in. The question is, are we subversive in everything "Christian" or are we selective in our "causes" and use Christianity as a prop for our right wing moralistic political views.
